I was learning in a wrong way most of the time
When i am learning something new as i was taught to and as most people do i first read through the textbook or resource and then trying to understand it - if i didnt understood the content - well i read the text again or the parts of the text which are confusing until whether i felt understood something or i felt its very confusing and i’d rather go try something else and procastinate learning current thing.
But the case above always happened to me when i was trying to learn something new or kinda where i am like unexperienced - i think… but when its about programming or new library or innovation in current industry i could really learn them real quick and which i have really never realized about. My workflow has never been stable, i just wanted to try out making a small app using new technology or try to apply that to my project and if to think about those time i really kinda never had that working perfectly in first time, i just tried that out, scanned through docs about it and made it better and better. I believe that fun experience of trial and error and iterating created expertise and confidence that i could apply those knowledge into Komi Store.
As i never really realized that - that was the fun and real learning path i thought to learn in traditional “try to understand and memorize” path and i dont know any time im learning something useful out of it. For example, i had a chance to read “Mom test book” which is essentially to teach you about talking to your users/customers. There was author’s experiences and rule of thumb stuff and examples of how to ask - as i said i just read through that, wrote down key notes and… what is the outcome? I really dont think i got much out of this - not because of the book (it was great btw) but because of the approach i took. Now that i realized this i am most likely gonna DM my Komi Store customers asking questions and if i dont get good feedback or general and not useful information i try out different thing (from book) - just try, make mistake, update the workflow/undertanding/approach and iterate. Thats what i am also planning to do with writing blogs like this. I am realizing it is becoming very bad but i vehemently believe that it will get great over time (also hope my grammar gets better haha) if i continue writing and iterating for making it a little different every time!
Thanks for reading this long~
